The Spanish Homestay Immersion Program (SHIP) puts you inside a certified host teacher's home, with daily private lessons, real conversations, and an unforgettable trip across Spain. You choose the destination, and we take care of the rest.
SHIP is built on one simple idea. Instead of a host family in one place and a language school across town, you stay in the home of a certified native Spanish teacher. Someone who really knows how to teach, guiding you through every breakfast, market run, coastal walk, and dinner conversation.
From breakfast to dinner, your day unfolds in Spanish. Conversations, activities, outings and everyday moments all become part of the learning experience. There is no switching off at three in the afternoon. You choose your destination and your dates, and we match you with the right host teacher and take care of every detail.

A home. A teacher. A life lived in Spanish. Most homestays give you a room and a meal. Most language schools give you a desk and a textbook. SHIP gives you both, plus a mentor who turns everyday life into your classroom.
Large group programs have their place. Ours is deliberately smaller, more personal, and built around learning Spanish through real daily life.
From morning coffee to evening walks, almost every moment happens in Spanish. Full immersion removes the translation lag that slows classroom learners down.
Constant exposure to a native Spanish speaker helps you develop authentic Spanish pronunciation, more natural speech and greater confidence, with your learning shaped to your exact Spanish level.
SHIP is built around personalised learning. Some destinations host just one student at a time, while others can accommodate between one and four students, depending on the host teacher and location. Even when several students are staying together, the experience remains small, personal and tailored to their Spanish level and needs.
There is no classroom door to walk through here. Your Spanish starts at the breakfast table and simply keeps going, into the kitchen, out to the market, and along the coast with your Spanish teacher beside you.

Here is the rhythm of a typical day. The structure is flexible and all times are approximate, because your Spanish teacher adjusts to your level, your goals, and whatever is happening locally that week.
9:00 to 10:00Breakfast chats and plans for the day, all in Spanish.
Start gently over breakfast and easy conversation. This is your first relaxed lesson of the day: everyday phrases, natural questions, and building confidence with no pressure.
10:00 to 12:00A guided lesson built entirely around you.
Some days this is a focused session at home: grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, business Spanish, or exam prep for DELE and SIELE. Other days it happens on the go, at the market, in a café, or walking along the coast.
12:00 to 13:00Let the morning's Spanish settle in.
Time to breathe, stretch, look over your notes, or simply let the morning's Spanish settle in before lunch.
13:00 to 14:00Lunch is a lesson, with food.
Lunch is not just lunch, it is a lesson with food. Natural conversation with your teacher, and sometimes family or friends, teaching you the daily vocabulary, humor, and expressions textbooks always miss.
17:00 to 20:00 · 3x per weekA walk that turns into a lesson.
Guided Spanish lessons hidden inside real experiences: coastal walks, historic old towns, museums, local festivals, and markets. You practise listening and speaking while simply living the language.
20:00 to 21:00Still talking long after the plates are empty.
A relaxed chance to keep using Spanish naturally. We talk about the day, share stories, and build fluency in a warm, informal setting.
From breakfast through dinner, your days are full of guided Spanish, real conversation, and cultural activities, all under the care of your host teacher.

Choosing to learn Spanish abroad through full immersion rewires your brain and opens doors you did not expect.
Bilingual learners enjoy stronger executive function, better attention control, mental flexibility, and memory. Sustained bilingualism may even help delay dementia symptoms later in life.
Real Spanish skills are a genuine edge in healthcare, legal services, and international business, where speaking with people in their own language changes everything.
When you can truly speak Spanish, a whole new world opens up: new friends, new opportunities, and a deeper understanding of one of the most spoken languages on Earth.
A few hours of class each week cannot compete with living the language. Here is why immersion works when everything else stalls.

You use Spanish all day, every day, not for a couple of hours a week. Many students make more progress in one week than they would in months of traditional classes.

You absorb how the language actually lives, the tone, the humor, the gestures, by being part of everyday Spanish life rather than reading about it.

You pick Spanish up the way you learned your first language: by using it, making mistakes, and being gently corrected by someone who wants you to succeed.

This is for you if you want real Spanish skills, not just words you recognise on a screen. It is built for people who are ready to move past apps and crowded classrooms and finally speak with confidence.
Some of the best lessons never look like lessons at all. You cook together, wander World Heritage old towns, and share long afternoons by the sea, picking up vocabulary and culture without ever opening a textbook.

Our way of connecting language, culture, and real human connection has been honored around the world.
Real learners, real weeks in Spain, and the moment Spanish finally clicked.
"A week with Mónica in Ciutadella became about so much more than Spanish. So much learning happened naturally as we shopped, walked and simply chatted. I have already booked another week, in Barcelona this time!"
"I left Valencia with stronger Spanish, real confidence in speaking, and wonderful memories with Pilar. Whether you are a beginner or advanced, she creates a personalised experience of excellent instruction and genuine hospitality."
"Two weeks in beautiful Extremadura. Richard welcomed me into his home and I felt at ease right away. I improved my Spanish from a beginner level and truly connected with the culture, all while having fun learning."
"As a recently retired professional, this program exceeded all my expectations. Mónica designed it around my level and goals, and the one-to-one format gave me an unmatched chance to improve through real conversation."
"I came to Menorca to improve my Spanish in a natural way, not just in a classroom. Spanish was never limited to lesson time. Little by little I reacted faster and stopped translating in my head. Warm, useful and motivating."
For a one week immersion, with full-board accommodation, tailored daily lessons, and cultural activities all included. Longer stays and small group rates are available on request.
